Through The Looking Glass. What makes your favorite hero shine in your eyes? Is it the courage of Indiana Jones swinging down into the snake-filled Well of the Souls? Is it the strength of Superman bringing to a screeching halt a locomotive that is bearing down on Lois and Jimmy? Is it the nobility of Shakespeare's Henry V inspiring his sorely outnumbered troops before the battle of Agincourt? Is it the wits of Sherlock Holmes dogging the trail of arch-villain Moriarty? Or is it the combination of fearlessness, muscle, dignity, and brains in Doc Savage, the consummate superhero?Whatever heroic traits pop into your mind, I suspect that obedience and suffering aren't among them. Yet it's in his obedience to God's law and his suffering the curse of that law for us that we see Christ as our conquering Hero.

John Owen And English Puritanism. John Owen was a leading theologian in seventeenth-century England. Closely associated with the regicide and revolution, he befriended Oliver Cromwell, was appointed vice-chancellor of the University of Oxford, and became the premier religious statesman of the Interregnum. The restoration of the monarchy pushed Owen into dissent, criminalizing his religious practice and inspiring his writings in defense of high Calvinism and religious toleration. Owen transcended his many experiences of defeat, and his claims to quietism were frequently undermined by rumors of his involvement in anti-government conspiracies. Crawford Gribben's biography documents Owen's importance as a controversial and adaptable theologian deeply involved with his social, political, and religious environments. Fiercely intellectual and extraordinarily learned, Owen wrote millions of words in works of theology and exegesis. Far from personifying the Reformed tradition, however, Owen helped to undermine it, offering an individualist account of Christian faith that downplayed the significance of the church and means of grace. In doing so, Owen's work contributed to the formation of the new religious movement known as evangelicalism, where his influence can still be seen today.

Through The Looking Glass. We all have in us the need to find God; we just don't always acknowledge that need or maybe even know where to find Him. Even as a believer in Jesus I found myself looking for the "secret to life" in the things of the world. It only led to a severe depression. In the midst of my darkest days God reached down and pulled me up and back into His light. He restored the goodness of life. If you want to find God and discover the true secret to life this fun, yet powerful book can change your life! "... suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her. There was nothing so remarkable in that; nor did Alice think it so very much out of the way to hear the Rabbit say to itself, “Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!” (when she thought it over afterwards, it occurred to her that she ought to have wondered at this, but at the time it all seemed quite natural); but when the Rabbit actually took a watch out of his waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on, Alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never before seen a Rabbit with either a waist-coat pocket, or a watch to take out of it, and burning with curiosity, she ran across the field after it, and fortunately was just in time to see it pop down a large rabbit-hole under the hedge." Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. There she goes again, thinking. It was a burning curiosity that caused Alice to discard all reason and chase a White Rabbit with pink eyes. There she was lazily daydreaming, when suddenly ... Alice even admits that although it all seemed natural at the time, she should have taken the time to wonder. Unfortunately, curiosity got the better of her. Off she scurried to follow the White Rabbit across a field that led to a large rabbit-hole – a rabbit-hole of unknown mysteries – a rabbit-hole that she hoped would offer her new excitement, satisfy her curiosity and end her boredom. The rabbit-hole was intriguing, but she didn’t stop to consider that it might take her to a place where she really hadn’t intended to go, a place that, at first glance, seemed enchanting, but which she would soon discover was not at all to her liking. Somewhere along my life’s journey, I became curious and sleepy and stupid and found some rabbit-holes inviting. I didn’t stop to consider. I just decided to follow a White Rabbit (or two). It wasn’t intentional. It wasn’t planned. It just happened. Like Alice, I found myself on an unexplainable search, looking for that elusive secret to life, the mystery of being all that I could be, the key to winning friends and influencing people, that hidden formula for the successful life. I knew there had to be White Rabbits out there that were willing to show me the way. I just had to find them. And suddenly, standing in a bookstore, I saw a White Rabbit right in front of me... Are a few of your own little “Rabbits” coming to mind? What have you been chasing that you just know is going to make your life better? Hey, Dr. Phil’s got the secret ... Oprah believes ... Dr. Atkins has the cure ... Maybe it’s those seven habits ... . “Follow that Rabbit!”

Modern Day Prophet. The author is the only person ever declared medically dead to be resurrected by God and sent back with a message for God's people. Taken away from a life in the fast lane while earning fame and riches for all the wrong reasons, the author thought that when the government was done with him he would live the rest of his life comfortably along with all of his ill-gotten gains. That would not be the case because God in His mercy had answered his mother's prayers for her son to be returned to worshipping Jesus. When the government was finished God was just getting started, first stripping him of pride and wealth while teaching the author humility and obedience. Then through revelations, visions, and prophecies followed with signs and wonders, the author learned the truths that have not been taught to the church ever since the last apostle died. This book teaches what God wants you to learn. Overcoming sin, obtaining perfection, and living a holy life are the commandments from Jesus Christ to His church. When these commandments are fulfilled as the apostles fulfilled them, God will work the same signs and wonders through His people today that He did 1900 years ago in the first century apostolic church. Within this book is the knowledge the apostles had that will allow Christians to once again worship in spirit and in truth. Prophecy determined that the forgotten knowledge of the truth would return to the church and once again God would be glorified through His saints when people are healed and the dead are raised alive. Through acquiring the wisdom revealed in this book, you will gain the faith needed for miracles to happen and bring about the revival that will usher in the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
